Detailed outdoor learning experience available on or about our river!

Beginning at Millyard Recreation, 1145 River Road, Bear River, the Fundy Tides offer the first lesson.  The changing height of the river water, on the average of four and a half feet per hour either coming or going.  At the mouth of the river there is an extreme rise and fall of tide of 29 feet at certain times of the moon.  At the Millyard we experience an average variation of 22 feet because of the gradual elevation of the river bottom.  A walk on a section of the river bed with a view of the rock ledges;, ancient tree stumps and century-old trees clinging to the rocks with a view of one half-mile of mud flats is more than interesting.  Fossils are often found in these areas.
